The Maralal International Camel Derby officially kicked off Thursday with the men’s 10 kilometer anti-poaching race at the Yare camel camp in the outskirts of Maralal town.
The men’s race was flagged off by Samburu county Deputy Governor Gabriel Lenegwesi after a low key opening ceremony attended by a few county government officials.
Lemaiyan Lengala won the 10kilometer race in 30:04:09 followed by David Lewano who clocked 31:08:09 in second place.
