MP Tindi Mwale vows loyalty to ODM amid defections

By J, KNA

Butere Member of Parliament Tindi Mwale, has pledged to remain a strong supporter of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), despite some lawmakers forming rival parties ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Mwale attributed his political growth to ODM’s leadership, which led him to serve as chairperson of the influential Public Accounts Committee (PAC) in the National Assembly.

The MP emphasized the importance of loyalty to a political party in establishing credibility and stability, highlighting the strength of the ODM under former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.

Mwale’s remarks come at a time when ODM is grappling with internal defections as some members shift allegiance to emerging political formations.

His stance is seen as a confidence in Raila’s leadership and a reassurance to ODM supporters in Western Kenya.

On the other hand, Political observers believe Mwale’s open declaration of loyalty could boost his grassroots support, particularly in Butere, where ODM enjoys significant backing.

His actions signal a party’s resistance against the ongoing departure of legislators seeking alternative positions.

Meanwhile, Mwale is a prominent advocate for ODM’s role in the national conversation, asserting that his mandate is owed to the party and the electorate who elected him.
