Kiambu Governor Kimani Wamatangi on Sunday joined faithfuls at P.C.E.A. Nginduri Church in Komothai Ward, Githunguri Sub-County, where he reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to expanding infrastructure and improving education standards across the county.
The service was led by moderator Rev. Patrick Thegu Mutahi and attended by former Githunguri MP Kago wa Lydiah and County Assembly Speaker Charles Thiongo, providing a platform for the governor to outline key development priorities.
Governor Wamatangi announced plans to install street lights and construct rural access roads in Komothai Ward, noting that improved infrastructure would enhance security and ease mobility for residents.
He further pledged to build and renovate schools in the area, emphasizing that education remains central to his development agenda.
“I will finish building Mucheke School by December and settle the issue of food too,” he assured congregants, highlighting that the county government has already addressed the food shortage that previously kept thousands of learners out of school.
He recalled that during his last visit to Komothai, only 30,000 students were enrolled, but numbers have since risen significantly due to the feeding program.
The governor also promised to support the development of P.C.E.A. Nginduri Church, underscoring the role of faith-based institutions in fostering community growth. He reiterated his readiness to channel more resources into projects that uplift livelihoods and strengthen social services in Kiambu.
“Our vision is to ensure that every child has access to quality education and every community enjoys improved infrastructure,” he said, adding that his administration will continue prioritizing initiatives that empower residents.
Governor Wamatangi’s visit to Komothai Ward reflects his broader commitment to inclusive development, with a focus on education, infrastructure, and community empowerment across Kiambu County.
