Wetang’ula rallies support for president Ruto’s second term

National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula has led a high-profile Kenya Kwanza political brigade in a major rally in Eldoret Town, urging residents to fully back Dr William Ruto’s administration to enable the president secure his second term in office.

Speaking in the president’s political backyard during a mega rally in the Eldoret Central Business District (CBD), Wetang’ula stated that residents have every reason to support the current government, citing a number of the ongoing and completed projects driven by the Kenya Kwanza administration.

He highlighted some of the prominent development initiatives, including improvement works at the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH); the ongoing construction of a modern medical facility designed to significantly ease congestion in other Level 6 hospitals across the region, the Eldoret 64 Ultra-Modern Market: A flagship trading hub currently under construction within the CBD and the Affordable Housing Projects, which are taking shape nationwide and were already creating jobs and providing decent housing for the people.

Other successful programmes highlighted include the Social Health Authority (SHA) which has enhanced efficiency and reforms in national healthcare delivery and road infrastructural projects across the country, among others.

Wetang’ula reaffirmed the government’s unwavering commitment to delivering on its campaign promises, noting that these progressive projects are strategically aligned with the administration’s long-term vision to elevate Kenya into a first-world economy.

The National Assembly Speaker further urged Kenyans across all sectors to champion peace and national unity, strongly condemning divisive and violent politics.

“At the National Assembly where I lead, I have united Members of Parliament from all regions across Kenya, and we treat all of them strictly as leaders of this great nation,” Wetang’ula affirmed.

He also challenged residents to register as voters in large numbers ahead of the upcoming general elections, reminding them that “bad leaders are elected by good citizens who choose not to vote.”

The speaker lauded the region for its overwhelming support for President Ruto in the last election and urged them to maintain the same momentum.

The rally was also addressed by Senate Majority Leader Aaron Cheruiyot, who lauded the President’s transformative agricultural policies.

Cheruiyot specifically pointed out the impact of the heavily subsidized fertilizer program, which has boosted agricultural productivity in the region.

He also highlighted the strategic economic benefits drawn from the President’s recent participation in the G7 Summit, emphasizing that the Head of State possesses a clear roadmap for Kenya’s transformation.

National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah similarly urged residents to embrace peaceful, progressive politics that foster development.

He assured the crowd that parliamentary leadership remains united in supporting the executive to seamlessly implement the Kenya Kwanza agenda.

Also in attendance were President’s Aide Farouk Kibet, the National Assembly Deputy Speaker Gladys Boss, Uasin Gishu Deputy Governor Evans Kapkea, and Nandi County women representative Cynthia Muge, alongside other leaders.
