Tarmacking works on the Ngegu-Edenville Road commenced yesterday with Residents of Kiambu Town set to reap these benefits of faster daily traffic flow and improved connectivity across the area. The project was spearheaded by Machua Waithaka MP Kiambu Town.
Construction works kicked off yesterday, with road surfacing and drainage installation progressing simultaneously to ensure long-term sustainability of the infrastructure.
The ongoing work comprise of full tarmacking of the Ngegu-Edenville Road alongside installation of a superior drainage system designed to enhance durability and protect the road from waterlogging and subsequent road damage.
An all-weather road infrastructure is likened to blood veins and a critical pillar of local community development by opening up economic opportunities for local residents as well as promoting, safer mobility and better access to essential services.
According to residents the road upgrade is expected to ease movement, reduce traffic congestion and travelling costs as well as stimulate local economic activities by improving access for market centers, schools and health facilities.
“This is a significant milestone in our efforts to improve infrastructure and enhance connectivity within the area,” said Waithaka Machua. “We remain committed to delivering quality infrastructure that supports economic growth and improve the everyday lives of our people.”
Beyond smoother transport, the improved drainage system is expected to reduce flooding and road drainage during rainy seasons, ensuring longevity of the road and consistent access for commuters and traders.
“We are prioritizing proper drainage and guaranteeing the durability and longevity of the road,” said Waithaka Machua emphasizing the project’s long-term vision.
As the ongoing road works continue to restructure the roadway, area residents are anxious to enjoy the benefits of the development including safe travel, robust local business and improved quality of life.
