Candidate lauds competitors for peaceful campaigns

Movement for Democracy and Growth (MDG) candidate Collins Okeyo, fellow candidates for running peaceful campaigns so far in the by-election race to elect Member of Parliament for Kasipul constituency since Kasipul constituency.

The seat became vacant following the death of late area MP Ong’ondo Were through shooting in Nairobi on 30th April, 2025.

Okeyo reported that there has been no violence observed since the official start of the campaign on October 8th, which included visits to areas such as Kodera, Aolo village and Kosele trading centre.

“Each candidate moves peacefully with their supporters whenever we accidentally meet on the way to our various campaign destinations,” the MDG candidate said adding, that is the spirit we want to have till the end,”.

He was speaking to the media, this afternoon shortly after holding a campaign meeting at Roho Musanda church ground in Aolo village, north Kamagak location.

He urged fellow candidates to continue with the same spirit to maintain peace so that the best may win to serve the people of Kasipul.

Okeyo pledged to maintain peace and democracy in Kasipul constituency while ensuring equitable development and fair bursary allocations for students if elected.

10 candidates are competing for the seat in the by- election scheduled to take place on 27th November 2025.
