The Bishop A.C.K Diocese of Nyaharuru has called upon the leaders in Nyandarua to desist from wrangles over construction of University of Nyandarua.
Bishop Rt. Rev. Major (Rtd) Samsom Gachathi who was speaking during Green Anglican Day in Olkalou expressed concern over the current wrangles over construction of the University.
“We are concerned over the wrangles prevailing over the establishment of the University of Nyandarua which can delay its construction, “said the cleric.
“I call upon the politicians and Nyandarua county leadership to come to an amicable agreement over the construction of the University which the local community eagerly anticipates for its establishment,” added the Bishop.
The cleric said the scuffle of words over the University can deny the Nyandarua County the University adding that the local community is not ready to lose the University which is of much benefit to them.
Bishop Gachathi said the establishment of the University will boost development and businesses in the neighbouring community.
The wrangles revolves around the relocation of local secondary school, Salient Secondary School, to pave way for construction of the University where county leadership want the school to be totally relocated to another area while area Member of Parliament, David Kiaraho want a part of the school land be carved for the University without the relocation of the school citing the investment he has done in the school.
Separately the Bishop also urged the Gen zs to register as voters instead of being very vocal in the social media adding that a vote speaks louder than social media.
He noted it is through the votes that the youths can participate in choosing the right leaders they desire in the forth coming general elections.
The cleric challenged politicians to conduct their politics in a decorum manner by avoiding insulting one another adding that what Kenyans need is peaceful environment to conduct their businesses.
“Kenya don’t need much they only need peaceful environment to carry out their daily chores such as farming and businesses among others, “added the Bishop.
He urged the aspirants for various electoral seats to seek for votes in a decent way adding, “The final person to decide who will take over leadership positions in the forth coming elections is the mwananchi,” said the Bishop.
