Head of Public Service calls for stakeholder collaboration in education

Head of Public Service, Felix Koskei, has challenged all stakeholders in the education sector to work together in nurturing learners academically, morally and spiritually in order to achieve desirable educational outcomes in our country.

Koskei, who was the chief guest at an interdenominational prayer service for senior schools in Chemase Zone, said education remains a critical pillar in national development and urged parents, teachers, religious organizations and government institutions to play their respective roles effectively in guiding young people.

He noted that while academic excellence was important, the spiritual growth and moral upbringing of learners were equally vital in producing responsible citizens capable of contributing positively to society.

“The success of our children depends on the collective efforts of all stakeholders. We must continue working together to provide a conducive environment that enables learners to excel in their studies while embracing values that strengthen our communities,” he said.

Koskei further encouraged students to remain disciplined, focused, and committed to their studies, adding that integrity, hard work and respect for others would help them achieve their aspirations.

During the occasion, speakers underscored the need for closer collaboration among education stakeholders and greater emphasis on spiritual nourishment during the event in Tinderet Sub County.

The event, held at Kapsigilai Girls Senior School on Friday, brought together students, teachers, parents, religious leaders, education officials, and political leaders in a show of unity and commitment to improving educational standards in the region.

Tinderet Member of Parliament, Julius Melly, emphasized the importance of partnership among education stakeholders in addressing challenges facing schools.

He said collective responsibility was necessary to improve academic performance and ensure learners received holistic development.

Melly urged students to make good use of available learning opportunities and avoid activities that could derail their educational journey.

Nandi Governor Stephen Sang underscored the role of spiritual guidance in shaping responsible members of society.

He observed that prayer and moral instruction help instill values that complement academic achievement and contribute to peaceful coexistence.

The governor reaffirmed the county government’s commitment to supporting initiatives aimed at improving the quality of education and the welfare of learners across the county.

Nandi Woman Representative Cynthia Muge challenged students to remain steadfast in their pursuit of excellence, saying education remains the surest path to personal and community transformation.

She called on parents to provide adequate support to their children and work closely with teachers in monitoring their academic progress and character development.

Aldai Member of Parliament, Marianne Keitany, echoed the need for unity among stakeholders, saying collaboration was key to creating a supportive learning environment.

She emphasized the importance of mentoring young people and instilling strong values that would enable them to become productive members of society.

Religious leaders who addressed the gathering stressed the primacy of spiritual nourishment in society, noting that faith-based guidance plays a crucial role in promoting discipline, integrity, and respect among learners.
