Residents of Ijara Constituency, Ijara Sub County have today endorsed Asha Dekow Olow bid to vie for Garissa County women representative in the coming 2027 general election.
Mrs Olow got a nod after local elders, the youth and grassroot women in Ijara held a meeting today at a hotel in Ijara Sub County, Garissa County.
Olow sold her political vision to the grassroot residents underscoring that she will engage community members to set the development as well as prioritize education, empowerment of women and youth groups in Ijara constituency among other needs if elected to that position.
She enumerated other critical challenges encountered by the area residents including power outage and promised to follow up with Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) to ensure a sub-station is opened up at Masalani town which will serve the entire constituency which has been suffering due to power outages.
Mrs Olow who has grown up in Ijara, vied in the 2022 general election but got trounced with a small margin by the current Garissa County women representative Udgoon Siyad Kuno.
She left for the United Kingdom, but has come back to try a second chance noting that she wants to live among her community and seekt a second chance to serve the community God willing.
She pledged to construct Masalani -boji Road which had been a nightmare to the residents for a long time.
At the same time, she noted that Ijara residents deserve a Huduma Centres to save them travelling all the way to Hola in Tana River for very crucial services a distance of about 43km.
Olow appealed to the Ministry of Public Service and Human Development to prioritize opening of a Huduma centres for the residents at Masalani town, which will also serve other neighbouring Sub Counties like Hulugho and Bothai.
Olow was accompanied by EALA MP, Falhadho Dekow Iman who hails from the constituency among other dignitaries.
