Young job seekers in Machakos County are set to benefit from a technology-driven recruitment initiative following a partnership between entrepreneur Eric Muli and recruitment platform Joby aimed at connecting skilled youth directly with verified employers.
The partnership, launched in Machakos on Friday, seeks to eliminate middlemen in the hiring process while addressing long-standing barriers that prevent many young people from accessing employment opportunities.
The initiative is expected to streamline recruitment by providing a transparent and efficient digital platform that links qualified job seekers with businesses looking for talent.
Speaking during the launch, Muli said technology remains a key driver of economic growth and should be used to create practical solutions that connect skilled young people to available jobs.
He noted that many qualified youths struggle to secure employment despite possessing the necessary skills, adding that digital innovation can bridge the gap between employers and prospective employees.
“Technology can transform how people access opportunity. Through our partnership with Joby, we are simplifying recruitment, connecting employers with skilled talent and ensuring young people build sustainable careers,” said Muli.
Joby founder Joram Theuri said the collaboration demonstrates a shared commitment to creating a trusted and inclusive employment ecosystem where qualified candidates can access verified opportunities without unnecessary obstacles.

Under the agreement, the recruitment platform will remain free for all job seekers, eliminating financial barriers often associated with employment applications.
Joby will also publish verified job vacancies every month and continue expanding its network of employers across Machakos County and other parts of the country to increase employment opportunities for young professionals.
The platform’s mission is to build a trusted recruitment ecosystem that broadens access to employment while supporting Africa’s next generation of skilled professionals.
