Minor killed by speeding vehicle in Wote town

A two-year-old child died on the spot Sunday, when a speeding vehicle hit her along Wote-Mwaani road in Makueni Sub-county.
The 11am accident occurred within Wote town after a Toyota Probox reg. NO. KCN 269F hit Terry Mutheu after she strayed from the care of her mother Jacinta Nthenya a businesswoman in Wote town.
“The girl left the kiosk where she was under the care of her mother and was hit by the Toyota Probox being driven by Patrick Muthenya Mutunga,” said Makueni County Police Commander Mr. Joseph Ole Naipeyan while speaking to KNA Monday.
He disclosed that the vehicle was taken to Makueni police Station for inspection even as the infant’s body was moved to Makueni County Referral Hospital mortuary for preservation and autopsy.
