Police in Makueni Subcounty have arrested three brothers suspecting them of murdering their 36-year-old neighbor at Itande village in Kilala Sub location on Saturday night.
According to the area Deputy County Commissioner (DCC) Paul Langat the trio is suspected to have conspired to murder Fidelis Mutinda Kituku over a land dispute.
“The deceased had multiple deep cuts on his head, neck and left hand. They also burnt his body beyond recognition,” said Langat who confirmed the heinous act to KNA on Sunday.
The suspects identified as Lewis Mbelo Musyoki and his twin brothers Mwanza and Mbatha are being held at Wote Police Station awaiting to be taken to court once investigations are finalized.
“When police visited the home of the suspects, they recovered a trouser stained with blood,” added the administrator.
The body of the victim was taken to Makueni County Referral Hospital mortuary awaiting autopsy.
